With two English PEN Awards under its belt and Herralde Novel Prize Finalist, Cristina Sánchez-Andrade's unsual literary novel Las Inviernas [The Winterlings] is being translated into several languages in 2016. Originally published by Anagrama in 2014, in September 2016 is coming out in German with Thiele Verlag and in English, with Scribe Publications in the United Kingdom and Australia, and with Restless Books in the United States and Canada. Earlier in 2016 came out in Polish with Muza, and in 2015 with Elliott Edizioni in Italy. In 2017 will be published in Brazil, with Tordesilhas/Alaúde Editora. And at the Pontas Agency we feel this is only the beginning!

To celebrate these international publications, Cristina Sánchez-Andrade is going on an extensive promotional tour in Germany, the UK and the United States.

Thiele Verlag has put together several readings and events around Las Inviernas [The Winterlings], with the author travelling to Fulda, Heidelberg, Frankfurt, Munich and Berlin from the 14th until the 25th of September to meet German readers, booksellers and journalists.

Between September 30th and October 8th 2016, Cristina Sánchez-Andrade will be around the UK to promote the English edition published by Scribe. The events include a "Women in Translation" panel at British Library for International Translation Day in London, a Waterstones Bookclub in Chichester, the Birmingham LitFest, an event in Leeds and another in Manchester.

On the 11th of November, Cristina Sánchez-Andrade is flying to New York on promotion of the US edition, out with Restless Books. «Remember this name: Cristina Sánchez-Andrade. She is, without question, one of the most powerful female voices the Spanish literature has produced.» La Razón

«In the case of Cristina Sánchez-Andrade one can certainly talk about a writer of an unusual world of her own and a surprising style.» ABC

«A genuine Galician Macondo.» Nove Noites

«Enchanting as a spell, The Winterlings blends Spanish oral tradition, Latin American magic realism, and the American gothic fiction of Flannery O’Connor and Shirley Jackson into an intoxicating story of romance, violent history, and the mysterious forces that move us.» Fantastic Fiction

«Rich, sensual prose perfectly conjured by Samuel Rutter’s evocative translation.» Lucy Scholes, The National

«The most beautiful book I’ve ever read… While reading, I got won over by that sensation of unrivalled beauty.» Cambio 16
