In recent months, mystic noir author Dolores Redondo has once again proven why she remains one of Spain’s most compelling voices in crime fiction. With a wave of public events, new projects, and continued international recognition, the author behind multiple bestsellers continues to captivate readers and critics alike.
In early April, the author travelled to Bilbao in the Basque Country to present the new audio adaptation of Esperando al diluvio (Awaiting the Flood), just launched by Audible (Spain). This is the adaptation into dramatized audio format of her 2022 novel set during the floods in Bilbao. The author joined the director of the project at the Guggenheim museum auditorium to speak about the process behind working with a large cast of actors to achieve a sound adaptation that lives up to the book.
Speaking of Esperando al diluvio (Awaiting the Flood), the German translation which was published in March 2025 by btb/PRH has been ranked 6th on the Krimibestenliste, the list of Best Crime Novels for May 2025 according to Deutschlandfunk (on German public radio), selected by a jury of 17 German crime fiction journalists. This list is the reference for crime fiction in Germany.
Another bestseller of hers that continues to go strong is Las que no duermen NASH (Those Who Don't Sleep NASH). The author was in Barcelona on World Book Day to celebrate Sant Jordi, when rivers of people flood the city of Barcelona in search of books and roses to gift to their loved ones. Fans lined up to have Dolores Redondo sign their favorite books of hers (or stacks of books!), especially her newest novel, which ended up being the 5th most sold fiction book in Spanish that day. The novel has sold over 200.000 copies in Spanish alone since its publication in November 2024.
This month we're also celebrating that the Galician translation of Las que no duermen NASH (Those Who Don't Sleep NASH) was recently published by Aira Editorial with a beautiful cover. This is the second translation of the book to make its way to readers (the first being the Catalan translation published by Columna). Further translation rights have been sold into French (Gallimard), German (btb/PRH), Italian (Rizzoli), Portuguese for Brazil (Planeta), and Basque (Erein). All other translation rights are available.
