Elba Pedrosa

Elba Pedrosa (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 1973) is a writer and actress who has been residing in Vigo, Galicia since the age of 3. She holds a degree in Information Sciences from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

She published her first book in 2018, a creative essay entitled Despertando la Creatividad (Awakening Creativity, Editorial Profit). In 2020, she ventured into fiction and published her debut novel in Spanish and Galician simultaneously: Lo que no sabías (What You Didn't Know, Ediciones Carena), and O que non sabías (Edicións Xerais de Galicia). In 2022, she published Agora que cala a noite (Now that the Night Falls, Aira Editorial), a fluid text between short stories and a choral novel, with a strong focus on feminist themes. Her first poetry collection (DES A MAR ultrasónico) is forthcoming with Ediciones Embora in March 2024.

In 2020, she was appointed as a member of the jury for the Galician Culture Awards and in 2022 she became a member of the jury for the Blanco Amor Long Novel Prize. She has also hosted shows on local television, such as the literature format "As mil e unha páxinas" and the humor-oriented news program "Malicia Noticias." She is a regular contributor to Galician media outlets, including Diario de Pontevedra and Faro de Vigo. Additionally, she works as a creative and oratory consultant for various public and private institutions.
