In early 2023, Pontas client Olivier Truc published a crime novella co-written with Spanish author Rosa Montero with Points in French (title: L’inconnue du port) and with Alfaguara/PRH in Spanish (title: La desconocida). Some months later, Netflix Spain acquired the audiovisual rights to develop a Spanish-language feature-length film and the movie was finally released in June 2026. All translation rights are currently available.

The film adapting the novel was launched internationally under the title “The Marked Woman”. The story centers on detective Anna Ripoll (Candela Peña), who is assigned to a case involving a woman (Ana Rujas) found bound and gagged inside a shipping container at the Port of Barcelona. The victim has no memory of who she is or what happened to her. Alongside officer Quique Zárate (Pol López), Ripoll’s investigation quickly turns into a race against time to uncover the woman’s identity and piece together the truth. The film was directed by Gabe Ibáñez with a screenplay by Lara Sendim, pictured below (left) with Olivier Truc and Rosa Montero who visited the shoot on-site in Barcelona with Anna Soler-Pont from the Pontas team (pictured below right).

“The Marked Woman” racked up 6.6 million views in its first week, topping the global ranking of non-English-language films and breaking into the Top 10 in 58 countries and not to mention hitting #1 in Spain. Rather than losing momentum after its impressive debut, it continued to perform exceptionally well in its second week, holding onto the #2 spot among Netflix Spain's most-watched titles while adding another 13.8 million views. One month after its launch, the film continues on the Top 10 most-watched films on Netflix Spain.

The story follows a traumatized detective investigating the case of an amnesiac, tortured woman found bound inside a shipping container in Barcelona. You can watch the trailer here:
