We’re thrilled to share with you the latest news on some of the authors represented by the Pontas Agency. Five of them have just won or are shortlisted to top prizes worldwide for their novels! Join us at the celebration of their success, and don’t miss the chance to read their work.

Indonesian most globally renowned Eka Kurniawan (below, left) and Peruvian rising star Renato Cisneros (below, right) are longlisted to one of the most prestigious awards in France for literary fiction, Prix Médicis 2017:

Renato Cisneros has already won an award in France, the Prix Transfuge du meilleur roman de Littérature Hispanique; so we’re all rooting for both of them to make it onto the shortlist, to be announced on October 30th 2017.

Also in France, Swedish writer Sara Lövestam (left) has been awarded the Grand Prix de Littérature Policière 2017 for the first instalment in the Kouplan Series, her highly succesful and original ‘noir’ four-book-series. Published by La Bête Noire/Robert Laffont in French, Chacun sa verité (Sanning med modifikation) has also won the De Goulden Vleermuis Prize 2017 in The Netherlands, as well as the award for Best Debut Crime Novel by the Swedish Crime Writers Association in 2015.

American Taiwanese based in London author Winnie M Li (right) is 2017 Winner of the ‘Not The Booker Prize’ for her debut novel Dark Chapter, which won the public vote as well as the endorsement of one of the Guardian‘s three judges, who called it ‘an impressive debut novel’ and ‘a tense dramatic reading experience… conveyed with skill and emotion’. Dark Chapter was also described as ‘brave and brilliant’ and ‘a powerful and timely read, beautifully written’.

Last but not least, Dolores Redondo is on the shortlist of the CWA International Dagger for The Legacy of the Bones, the 2nd book in The Baztan Trilogy, published in full by HarperCollins in English (UK). This is the second time that Dolores is up for the prestigious CWA International Dagger, but the first time that she makes the shortlist! On October 26th 2017 the winner will be announced. We are also celebrating that on October 15th it was one year since Dolores Redondo won the Planeta Prize 2016 for her novel All This I Shall Give You, and that sales have almost reached 400,000 copies in Spanish language alone.
