Original title: L’eau de rose
Author: Christophe Carlier
During the waning days of summer, Sigrid, an author of romance novels, checks into a beautiful old hotel of past splendor on a remote Greek island.
The setting is reminiscent of an Agatha Christie novel, and before she even reaches her room, Sigrid senses the gaze of a mysterious young woman dressed in a long black dress. This enigmatic figure becomes the heart of an atmospheric venue in which past and present, and imaginary and real become blurred.
As Sigrid writes her new romance novel, she and the small group of guests gathered in the hotel to enjoy the last stolen days of summer intermingle in magical and surreal ways, giving themselves over to love, nostalgia and intrigue.
