UN: A History of Corruption

From 1945 the UN has assumed a role throughout its history which has been , in many occasions, contrary to the spirit and the ideals outlined when it was created. Backed by a thorough investigation, this essay covers sixty years of fraud, corruption, blackmail, tortures, sexual assaults and a catastrophic administration by the UN and its special agencies. In his new book, Frattini, explains how Trygve Lie, the first Secretary General, openly cooperated with McCarthy’s anti-American activities committee in his “witch hunt” inside the UN; how Dag Hammarskjöld authorized CIA agents to enter the UN headquarters and helped them manipulate the politics related to Congo; how U Thant protected – in exchange for an important donation - six arab diplomats who were involved in the murder of a North American woman in an orgy of blood and sex; how Kurt Waldheim hid his nazi past and his years at Hitler’s service; how Butros Butros-Gali protected high UN mandatories, personal friends, of grave accusations of sexual abuse from other members of the organization; and how Kofi Annan turned a blind eye to two horrifying episodes of mass murder, Rwanda and Srebrenica, and, “omitted”, the biggest case of corruption within the whole history of the UN regarding the “Oil-for-Food” programme, in which his own son Kojo was involved. A controversial critique in the public debate on the UN.

The book is written in a journalistic approach, clear and direct, and aimed at a general audience. It also includes two photo booklets.
