The Conspiracy. How to kill Lorenzo de Medici
From the year 1435, the Medicis, a family from Florence who was hated and despised by many and exalted and praised by others, ruled the politics of the Italian states for almost three centuries. Their mandate included classic Renaissance-style scandals related to politics and diplomacy such as conspiracies, kidnappings, tortures and assassinations. On the 26th of April 1378, a conspiracy group tried to kill Lorenzo de Medici and his brother Giuliano in the cathedral of Florence. The idea behind this plot was to assassinate both of them at the same time in order to avoid any kind of retaliations, but the two murderers failed and the vengeance against them would be ruthless.

The protagonists of this story are, among others, Lorenzo de Medici, the Duke of Urbino, Sixto IV, Leonardo da Vinci and Sandro Botticelli. 526 years after the murder of Lorenzo de Medici, a history professor discovers the true person behind this conspiracy after deciphering the so-called “Simonetta Code”.
