Margarida Rebelo Pinto (Lisbon, 1965) studied Portuguese and French Literature at the University of Lisbon and worked as a journalist since 1987, as a remarkably recognised columnist since the beginning.
She worked in the press for Elle, Marie Claire and other Portuguese newspapers and magazines. She was also a TV reporter for the Portuguese Channel 1. In March 1999, she published her first novel, Who cares, that became a best-seller shortly after - 80,000 copies sold in less than a year, winner of the FNAC Literature Award 2000. Since then, she has published seven other novels, children books and chronicles, selling thousands of books per year. Her first novel will be adapted to the cinema with a script written by her.
Margarida Rebelo Pinto is one of the most popular Portuguese writers, with more than 1 million copies sold in Portugal so far. Her work has been translated into many languages, including German (Heyne/Random House), Dutch (Sirene), Spanish (Roca), Portuguese in Brazil (Record) among others.
