Manuel Pérez Subirana was born in Barcelona in 1971, where he graduated in Law. Lo importante es perder (Loosing Is What Matters) is his first novel, first published to great acclaim by Anagrama in 2003.  

Egipto (Egypt) is his second novel and became Finalist of the Herralde Novel Prize in 2005.
