Biography Yolanda García Serrano and Verónica Fernández
Yolanda García Serrano began her professional career writing in the theatre. She also writes for Cinema and Television. She has collaborated in several famous television series for the Spanish audience and has collaborated as the scriptwriter of films by the well known Spanish film director Manuel Gómez Pereira. She is also the scriptwriter and the director of some popular Spanish drama and films. She has written four novels to date: Línea caliente (Hot Line), published by Temas de Hoy (Spain); Amor de hombre (Male Love) by Olalla Ediciones; and Siempre me enamoro del hombre equivocado (I Always Fall in Love With the Wrong Man) by Temas de Hoy. Her last novel De qué va eso del amor (What is This Thing That we Call Love About?) was also written together with Véronica Fernández, published by Destino in 2001, and received the Destino-Screenplay prize. Véronica Fernández got a degree in Spanish Language and Literature and has graduated in Screenplay by the “Escuela de Cine” of Madrid. She mainly works as scriptwriter of the most prominent Spanish television series. She obtained the most important Spanish prize in the field of Cinema called “Goya” with the script of El Bola in 2001, in the category of Best Original Screenplay. In this year she also achieved together with Yolanda García Serrano the Destino-Screenplay prize for her novel De qué va eso del amor (What is This Thing That we Call Love About?). As a playwright she has written four works, the last one (“Presas”) together with Ignacio del Moral and was opening in Madrid in 2005. She combines this professional task teaching in the prestigious school of cinema ECAM.
