Biography Sia Figiel
Sia Figiel (1967) is one of few women novelists in Oceania and is rapidly becoming one of the most powerful literary voices in the English language. Her first novel, Where We Once Belonged, won the 1997 Commonwealth Writer’s Prize for "Best First Book" for the South East Asia/South Pacific region, and has been published in translation in several languages including German, Dutch and Spanish.
