| Born in 1962 in Utrera, Sevilla, Maria Jaén lives and writes (in Catalan) in Barcelona. Her two first novels, Amorrada al piló (1986) and Sauna (1987), with high erotic content, have been adapted into successful films. In 1992 she published a collection of short stories –La teva noia (Columna)– and after a five year break reappeared with La dona discreta, considered by critics as her best literary achievement. She is the author of several TV and film scripts. |
