| Born in Cameroon, Inongo-vi-Makomé has lived in Barcelona since 1972. Aside from his work as an author, he is a professor of African Literature and the director of Mfundi Kupa I Kribi-Itondi, an African cultural association engaged in the effort of promoting African oral tradition that organizes theatre events and African storytelling sessions for children. Rebellions, his first novel, begins with the return to Cameroon of a man who has been exiled in Europe. It portrays the magic of African traditions, while commenting upon the lack of freedom of speech and the fears of immigrants, and tracing the development of a wonderful love story that highlights the strength of family relationships.
