Cèlia Sànchez-Mústich was born in Barcelona in December 1954 and nowadays she lives in Sitges. From her first book of poems, La cendra i el miracle (Ash and Miracle), to the fifth and last one, Llum de claraboia (Skylight), this author has been working up a poetic voice which has been qualified as singular “because it is essential, conceptual, and brings about a strong load of thought, but refusing to leave aside the world of feelings and aesthetics.”
She is also a writer of short stories and author of two novels. Besides, she has undertaken several cultural projects, and worked for several media, especially writing short stories for the journal Avui during a period of four years. Some of her poems have been translated or selected for anthologies –or both- and you can find them in publicatins such as Galeusca –poetic anthology 1990-2003-; Antologia de poesia catalana femenina, (Woman Catalan Poetry Anthology), by Carme Riera; 48 poètes catalans pour le XXle siècle (48 Catalan Poets for the XXlst Century); Paisatge emergent, 30 poetes catalanes del segle XX (Emergent Landscape, 30 Catalan Woman Poets of the XXth Century) or He decidido seguir viviendo (Universidad de Guadalajara, Mèxic). |
