Blanca Busquets i Oliu (Barcelona, 1961) is a writer and journalist. Her life is marked by the written word. At twelve years of age she produced her first short story and, after this, writing became central to her life. She has published Presó de Neu (Prison of Snow, Proa, 2003), El Jersei (The Jumper, Rosa dels Vents, 2006), which is soon to appear in Russian and Italian. Tren a Puigcerdà (Train to Puigcerdà, Rosa dels Vents, 2008) is her last novel.  

Since 1986, she has worked as a radio journalist in Catalunya Ràdio, where she has been responsible for a number of programmes. She also worked for seven years as an editor with the Catalan television station, Televisió de Catalunya.
