Belén Carmona has a Bachelor of Journalism from the Universidad Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and a postgraduate in New Techniques of Information and Communication from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). Belén is also specialised in the Management of Multicultural Projects and Fundraising. She currently works for Amnesty International promoting the role of the arts in the defence of human rights in the world. Her first published novel, Cesárea, has enjoyed a great success in Spain. The literary talent of Belén Carmona and her very personal style have been praised by the critics. Her novel La Estrella de Santaco (The Star of Santaco) was introduced to the II Latin-American Market of Audio-Visual Rights (MIDA, 2007). A Contraluz Films are working on a production of the movie based on La Estrella de Santaco by Belén Carmona.
