| Born in 1958 in Vigo, Alfonso Armada studied journalism and theatre in Madrid. For fourteen years he worked for the daily newspaper El País, spending many of those years as their foreign correspondent in Africa. As a result of his experiences during that time, he compiled his acclaimed African Notebooks. Since 1999 he has lived in New York as the cultural correspondent for the Spanish newspaper ABC. He is the author of several collections of poetry and many plays. |
